thanks for messing with our education,

thanks for messing with our education,

As a current A-Level student in the UK and after sitting all my first year exams, it has come to my attention and horror and to that of my peers that we, as students, were not nearly prepared enough for the examinations that took place this year.

Recently in the UK, Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove has decided to reform education, eliminating the opportunity to have exams in January, thus virtually eliminating the modular scheme.

This may have been a clever move as research into grades shows that it is becoming increasingly more common for students to hit the higher grades, therefore, making exams harder would be a way of leveling it out again.

HOWEVER, Mr Gove has decided to introduce this system to students who have already done 1 year of the old scheme.

Mr Gove may seek a higher value in attaining an A at a-level, but the fact of the matter is, the psychological impact it has had on students up and down the country is horrifying and is not in the least way positive.

As the man in charge of my education, i’d expect him to understand the consequences of his change to exams. It is clear Mr Gove has over looked the effect he has had on those he is commissioned to assist.

Mr Gove, you may have got the percentages you want, but thanks for screwing us all over in the process.
